Price: £136 12x75cl Description: Dark, deep red. Displays intense aromas of ripe black fruit coupled with spicy black pepper. Voluptuous with flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and hints of vanilla. Robert Parker: 91 pts. Wine Advocate # 182 Apr 2009 - Reviewer Robert Parker - The Marques de Casa Concha series begins with the 2007 Carmenere which spent 16 months in French oak. Saturated purple in color, it offers up a splendid bouquet of toasty oak, tobacco, Asian spices, plum, and blueberry. Mouth-coating, layered, and bordering on opulent, there is plenty of ripe tannin lurking under the fruit, succulent flavors, and excellent balance. This awesome value will be at its best from 2012 to 2020. Wine Spectator: Issue Dec 31, 2009 - There's a lovely mouthfeel to the layers of coffee, red licorice, red plum and crushed black currant fruit, which all glide over the loamy finish. Very solid. Drink now through 2011. 14,000 cases made. –JM Ken's Wine Guide (kenswineguide.com) , 91pts - "This very dark opaque purple colored wine opens with an attractive blueberry and cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and richly concentrated. The flavor profile is a dusty blueberry and plum. The finish is dry and its tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with a gourmet Angus burger with sautéed mushrooms and cheddar or jambalaya.
