These trees thrive in the dry, rocky, infertile soils. It’s no coincidence that where you see a “palo alto” you will often find vines. Vines planted in such soils tend to produce really high quality grapes, hence the name of our wines.Viña Palo Alto was born in 2006 with the aim of exploiting the best of the Maule Valley. Its first wine was Palo Alto, a red blend which broke away from classical red wines across the world with a vanguard style and attractive presentation. Following the success of its red wine blend, Viña Palo Alto widened its range to include a Sauvignon Blanc in 2007 and a Shiraz Rosé in 2008. The philosophy behind these wines remained the same –to deliver the best exponent of the Maule in each category. Palo Alto offers an innovative proposal because it simplifies the process of wine selection by producing only three wines: a red, a white and a rosé. One of the main strengths of Palo Alto is its attractive value for money. Thanks to the talent of winemaker Hector Urzúa and his team, Viña Palo Alto has won various international distinctions and is continuously surprising the specialized press.
