Price: £106.00 12x75cl From the attractive blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Carmenere, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon this assemblage of red grapes produces an expressive deep red wine with soft tannins and great structure. Time spent in French and American oak barrels pronounces its dark fruit, chocolate, and tobacco aromas The personality of Trio Merlot is defined as much by the peculiarities of the grapes from which it is made, as their origins. 85% of the blend – Merlot and Carmenere – come from the Rapel Valley. The remaining 15% – Cabernet Sauvignon – comes from Maipo vineyards. Optimum maturity of the Merlot and the silkiness and an abundance of aromas from the Carmenere are due in part to the hot days and mild nights of the Rapel Valley. The robust tannins and structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon, owes much to the Maipo Valley´s rocky soil and large thermal amplitude. 90 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, Vintage 2008
